Gulf Tower
The Gulf Tower is a 44-story skyscraper located in downtown Pittsburgh, PA, that was named after the Gulf Oil Corporation, a multinational oil company.
RAN Fire Protection is part of the repair process that is needed to reopen the Gulf Tower that involves the
replacement of the existing fire pump, fire protection design, and code consulting services. RAN evaluated
the fire pump system to identify the pressure needed to protect the building. The design requirements incorporated requests from the building and fire officials as well as include electrical emergency and standby
power system requirements. As part of the fire pump design, RAN identified fire protection systems that may
be impacted by the replacement of the fire pump.
