RAN Fire Protection Engineering performed fire
protection engineering consulting services for the
expansion project on the Manassas Mall. The scope of services included the development of sprinkler and fire alarm systems for use in a performance specification for the development of contractors' bid basis and working drawing and reviewing the working drawings to verify agreement with the design intent. The design of the fire protection systems had to be incorporated into existing systems.

RAN Fire Protection Engineering was retained to provide HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the building renovation. The Fire Protection system included a sprinkler and standpipe system. HVAC drawings showed all heating/cooling unit locations, special exhaust systems, preliminary system layouts, and preliminary equipment selections. The scope of the electrical services include the design of electrical distribution, lighting, emergency power, and fire alarm systems.

RAN Fire Protection Engineering has years of experience with planning and design for enclosed malls. Small tenant fit-out projects are our specialty. RAN provided fire alarm design services for the new mercantile occupancy. The new fire alarm system was integrated into the overall mall protection.

Tapestry on the Hudson

RAN Engineering was retained to complete consulting services for Fire Protection. RAN Fire Protection Engineering was brought in to determine the fire resistance ratings of the Tapestry of the Hudson which is located in Troy, NY. After some research RAN used the archaic equivalency method which was outlined in the existing building code of the New York State.

RAN Fire Protection Engineering, P.E. has been the MEP & FP engineer for 80,000 square feet of hotel space renovations, along with a Starbucks
and Landau’s Jewelry Store in the hotel’s lobby. The renovations were completed adding more comfortable hotel accommodations, amenities and retail shopping conveniences for the hotels
patrons and clients. The space improvements have since increased client retention and attracting new customers

RAN Fire Protection Engineering provided complete fire protection engineered construction plans and consulting services for the addition to the Car-Freshener building. The fire protection design drawings included a hazard classification of the building space, a sprinkler and piping location plan, and hydraulic calculations. RAN responded to bidder’s questions, issued the addenda, and processed the sprinkler ship drawings and submittal as a part of the construction administration services.
